TLW Solicitors’ Accounts Manager, Gemma Dodds, recently completed the Chiltern 50 Challenge, smashing her fundraising target.
The event took place on Saturday 24th September 2021, starting and ending in Henley on Thames and taking in a 50km loop of the rolling Chiltern Hills. Gemma had been suffering from a chest infection in the week leading up to the race but was determined to take part and not let all her supporters down.
Following the gruelling event Gemma said:
“Even on the day, I still wasn’t feeling 100%. I thought I wasn’t even going to make it halfway but somehow, I did it! All 50km of it!”
Talking about the course itself, Gemma said she had never seen hills quite like the Chilterns and never experienced such a tough trail run before. She completed the course in 7 hours and 47 minutes.
Gemma ran the event in memory of her late grandmother, who suffered from dementia. Through the generosity of her family, friends and colleagues, Gemma has raised over £700 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
