Peter McKenna and Sarah Spruce presented the dedicated volunteers at The Meadows with trophies for their hard work over the past year.
TLW Solicitors’ Peter McKenna and Sarah Spruce were delighted to attend the recent Volunteer Award Ceremony for local community project, The Meadows, formerly known as Meadow Well Connected.
TLW has supported The Meadows since 2019 via standalone fundraising events, such as a charity gala dinner, buying locally sourced, organic produce from The Meadows’ Tyne Fresh venture and ongoing regular support of the Positive Pathways programme.
Celebrating volunteers
+ −On the evening of 25th April 2024, TLW Solicitors were given the opportunity to join in with The Meadows’ team to celebrate and recognise the hard work and dedication of the community organisation’s cohort of volunteers in a ceremony held at Clennell Hall.
The evening shone the spotlight on the incredible efforts each of the volunteers makes to ensure that The Meadows runs efficiently and is able to continue to provide the well-needed support to the Meadow Well community. Over the past 12 months, The Meadows’ volunteers have given almost 2,500 hours of their time to the various projects that the community centre offers.
TLW Solicitors’ Directors, Peter McKenna, and Sarah Spruce, were proud to present the prizes for the ‘Rising Star’ and ‘Heart of Gold’ awards. Other categories included:
- Music Maestro
- All Weather Hero
- Kitchen Dynamo
- The Legacy Award
- Community Caretaker
The Meadows’ volunteers take on a range of roles for the organisation including helping in the community garden, teaching IT and employability skills, offering adult support, and volunteering with the after-school kids’ club.
