TLW Solicitors celebrates successful four year partnership with Meadow Well Connected

Latest News

TLW has supported Meadow Well Connected’s
Positive Pathways programme since 2019.

2023 marks the fourth successful year of the strong partnership between TLW Solicitors and North Tyneside-based Meadow Well Connected (MWC), an inclusive hub offering support services and community activities.

A positive partnership

In a recent meeting and presentation, the two organisations reflected on the success of their ongoing partnership, which began back in 2019, and has seen TLW Solicitors support Meadow Well Connected in a number of ways including: standalone fundraising events, such as a charity gala dinner; buying locally sourced, organic produce from MWC’s Tyne Fresh venture and ongoing regular support of the Positive Pathways programme.

The Positive Pathways group meets weekly to plan events and activities for the Meadow Well community with a focus on reducing isolation and loneliness.

Since the start of TLW’s involvement with the Positive Pathways programme, Meadow Well Connected has supported over 121 unique individuals who have attended over 2000 times and provided over 6000 hours of provision.

Most recently, the Positive Pathways group has organised activities such as:

  • A Christmas celebration at a local restaurant
  • Weekly bingo nights for the local community
  • Hosting the Meadow Well ‘Sing Group’
  • Local and national day trips, including to Northumberland Zoo and York

TLW’s ongoing support of the Positive Pathways programme allows the group to continue to offer new and varied activities for the local Meadow Well community which had previously been limited due to rising costs.

TLW’s ongoing support

Commenting on the successful ongoing partnership, Partner Peter McKenna said:

“We have a brilliant relationship with everyone at Meadow Well Connected and it has been so rewarding to see how the Positive Pathways programme has developed since we started our support way back in 2019, and even through the exceptional challenges of the pandemic.

Meadow Well Connected does fantastic work within the North Shields community where the firm is also based. The TLW team and I are very privileged, humbled and proud to be able to continue to help where we can with their incredibly difficult and valuable work.”
