TLW solicitors have secured significant damages for the family of an ex-shipyard worker who sadly passed away due to being exposed to asbestos.
Our client worked in the repair and maintenance of dry docks. His colleagues working above him on the vessels in the docks regularly used asbestos to lag piping on the vessels and asbestos fibres would fall below to where our client was working causing him to inhale them.
As a result he developed Mesothelioma and sadly passed away before his case was concluded, meaning the compensation passed to the family members who had cared for him during his illness.
