HGV driver recovers compensation

One of TLW’s clients, an HGV driver, has recovered compensation following an accident caused by his vehicle not being properly maintained.
Our client was driving a 35 tonne dumper truck which had a ladder to allow access to and from the vehicle’s cab. Unfortunately, the walkway leading to the ladder gave way, causing our client to injure his shoulder as he grabbed the ladder to stop himself from falling to the ground.
Although the Defendant initially refused to pay our client any compensation, they have now agreed to compensate him following the issuing of Court proceedings.
